About the Journal

Lasallian Journal of Health (LJH) was formally established as an institutional initiative of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) through its Research Services, in response to the growing need for a scholarly platform dedicated to the dissemination of scientific research across the health sciences.

As the Institute expanded its academic offerings and research programs in medicine, allied health, public health, and related fields, the creation of an official peer-reviewed journal became a strategic priority. LJH was conceived to promote the scholarly outputs of faculty, students, clinicians, and researchers across the various academic units of DLSMHSI, and to provide an avenue for the publication of high-quality, ethical, and impactful research.

The journal was launched in alignment with the Institute’s mission to advance knowledge and service through health innovation, guided by the Lasallian core values of faith, zeal for service, and excellence in education. Since its inception, LJH has embodied the research priorities of DLSMHSI supporting evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and translational research aimed at addressing both local and global health issues.

Closely integrated with the functions of the Research Services, LJH contributes to the Institute’s broader research ecosystem, which includes capacity-building programs, ethics oversight, research grants, publication support, and institutional research recognition. The journal’s establishment marked a milestone in the institutionalization of research within DLSMHSI and continues to be a central pillar of its knowledge dissemination efforts.

Today, LJH stands as a testament to the Institute’s enduring commitment to research excellence and health innovation, serving as a platform for advancing scientific dialogue and fostering a culture of inquiry and scholarly integrity within and beyond the Lasallian community.
