Abstract
Out of 1684 records found, 4 studies were included in the meta-analysis. The overall population was 133, 58 in the corticosteroid group and 75 in the control group. Intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) was used in all the studies. When all studies were combined, the odds ratio was 0.26 which favors the IVMP group. There was no significant reterogeneity among the studies. Further subgroup analysis, revealed that the IVMP at 30mg/kg/day resulted in an OR of 0.21 when compared to IVIG and an OR : 0.37 when used alone.
