Abstract
This is a case of a 5 year old, male who came in because of a palpable abdominal mass of 2 months' duration with no other associated signs and symptoms. The initial impression was Wilms' tumor vs neuroblastoma vs germ cell tumor. Series of laboratory examinations and imaging done to confirm its diagnosis, results showed that there was a retroperitoneal solid mass anterior to the left kidney and compressing it posteriorly. Patient then underwent exploratory laparatomy, resection of the mass with frozen section. Intraoperative findings showed that the mass encroached to the left kidney, thus nephrectomy was done. Frozen section revealed, a spindle-shaped tumor, initial histopathology and slide review revealed a pararenal wilms' tumor with favorable histology.
