Abstract

Cross sectional or prevalence study was employed for this research. Total of five hundred twenty grades 9-12 private and public high school students were included in the study. Respondents answered questionnaires pertaining to their profile, commitment to social media use using the Facebook Intensity Scale (FIS) and questions connected to mental health, using the Pediatric Symptom Checklist-Youth Report (Y-PSC). Data was analyzed through percentage and Chi-square. The results of the study reflect that there was no association between two variables, and there was no single particular factor that will lead to onset of development of signs and symptoms of mental health illnesses.
