Abstract

Descriptive study was used. Standard forward and backward translation procedures were done by independent translators and discrepancies were checked. The original CIAS and the English backward translated tool was compared through item-per-item analysis. Convenience sampling of ten participants were pre-tested and debriefing followed to receive feedback regarding process. Final participants were selected through further random and systematic sampling procedures. The Filipino version of the Chen Internet Addiction Scale is considered a valid tool for the Philippine population.
