Community-based study on caregivers' perceived effect of online learning on students' mental health

Abstract
Descriptive, cross-sectional study design was used. Two tools were utilized which were collected thru online platform. A Filipino version of the Pictorial Pediatric Symptom Checklist was used for screening mental health, while a survey questionnaire to determine other factors affecting the mental health of the students. The mean, standard deviation, and frequency were obtained and were tested for normality. Survey responses were analyzed using Chi-square. The findings revealed that there is no significant difference in the mental health of the children from the Southplains community. Other factors that had an impact on mental health were the COVID-19 pandemic, home quarantine, and social media.
