Abstract
This study shows that clinicians should have a high index of suspicion of perforation by fruit seeds, when encountering patients that present with peritonis. Surgeons should also focus on the critical care preoperatively and postoperatively. Proper education of the masses should also be underway (for example lay forums and barangay hall lectures), to be able to decrease the morbidity and mortality caused by these prickly fruit seeds.
