Abstract
The study utilized phenomenology as a qualitative research design. Participants of the study included 10 participants' community Chinese older adults to cared for by nurses in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was conducted in Shan Dong Province of China. The researchers used a semi-structured interview to collected data, while the Colaizzi's approach was employed for the data analysis. The study concluded that, it is the universal role of the nurse to provide nursing care to all clients regardless of the condition, even for the elderlies. It is difficult yet, challenging to provide nursing care to a Chinese elderly with so many health related problems during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is concluded that the Chinese elderlies experienced difficulty during the COVID 19 pandemic due to the many restrictions imposed by the government. Likewise, they are also affected by the possible consequences to their children, of being infected with the virus, and depressed with the many government-imposed restrictions. Nevertheless, there is a need to provide better services to the Chinese older adults so that their needs are provided.
