Abstract
This study utilized the quasi-experimental design using stratified random sampling. A total of 33 respondents were exposed to health education based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) Questionnaires was used for data gathering. Percentage distribution, mean, frequency distribution, Wilcoxon-signed Ranks Test, Mann-Whitney U test, paired t-test, t-test for independent variable were used for data analysis. The researcher concludes the following: 1) Majority of the participants are males, from urban areas, and have food allowance, 2) The level of obesity attitudes in the treatment groups was very good before and after the intervention. Similarly, in the comparison group, the level of obesity attitude was also very good before and after taking the routine extracurricular course without the HBM health education. On the other hand, the level of health behavior in the treatment group was good before the intervention. However, the level of health behaviors was very good after the implementation of health education based on the HBM. In addition, in the comparison group, the level of health behaviors was also good before and after taking the routine extracurricular course without the HBM education, 3) Statistical results showed a slight increase in the level of obesity attitude in the treatment group before and after the intervention. However, no significant difference was found in the comparison group before and after the intervention. On the other hand, statistical results showed a significant increase in the level of health behavior in the treatment group before and after the intervention. However, no significant difference was found in the comparison group before and after the intervention.
