Abstract
This study analyzes the predominant learning styles of Grade 11 honor students at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute during the Academic Year 2023–2024, focusing on the subject "Foundations to Healthcare." Utilizing Kolb's Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) as a framework, the research examines how students’ preferences for Concrete Experience, Reflective Observation, Abstract Conceptualization, and Active Experimentation influence their academic performance. A quantitative research design was implemented, and data were collected using Kolb's Learning Style Inventory from 83 participants. The findings indicate that the Converging and Assimilating learning styles are the most common, accounting for 95% of the responses. Convergers tend to prefer problemsolving and practical application, whereas Assimilators excel in theoretical understanding and logical analysis. In contrast, the Accommodating and Diverging styles, which prioritize hands-on experiences and creative exploration, were less prevalent. These insights suggest that structured teaching methods that blend theory and practice are the most effective for these students. This research underscores the importance of tailoring educational strategies to accommodate diverse learning preferences, which can enhance academic achievement and preparedness for future roles in healthcare. Recommendations include employing varied teaching methods and integrating experiential learning activities to increase engagement and skill acquisition.
