Abstract

The study aims to investigate the relationship of motivation and self-efficacy towards the academic performance of senior high school students in Cavite with a significant difference by grade level. Since motivation is a triggering element for any student toward involvement and perseverance, and self-efficacy is the belief in one's ability to perform given tasks, both are extremely important factors that affect academic performance. From the study, grade level shows notable variations in both motivation and self-efficacy, indicating a difference between students for Grade 11 and Grade 12. Other demographics like sex assigned at birth, family monthly income, and type of institution didn't show a significant difference in these factors. By learning these distinctions, this research contributes to educators' insights in developing strategies tailored to grade levels that spur an environment for student confidence and drive. This research supports the greater understanding of how motivation and self-efficacy affect one's academic performance, offering practical applications in improving educational outcomes.
