Abstract
This study investigates the impact of contents gained from social media platforms on dietary behaviors, focusing on the perspective of the Special Health Sciences Senior High School students of the institution. Despite numerous research on its impact on one’s diet, there exists a notable research gap concerning the viewpoint of students pursuing health-related professions. Through a quantitative approach, we explore the extent to which social media shapes dietary behaviors among health-allied students. Preliminary findings suggest that contents from various social media platforms are impactful towards the four parameters of dietary behavior: (1) food intake, (2) food choice, (3) eating habit and (4) dietary routine. Amongst the four parameters, Eating Habit is shown to be the most impactful parameter for the participants. Special Health Sciences Senior High School students of the institution demonstrate a higher aptitude for discerning reliable information and adopting healthier lifestyle practices compared to the general population.
