Abstract
This study employed experimental research design. The researchers extracted the Ashitaba leaf crude extract and injected it into the chorioallantoic membrane of each respective duch emryo. During the treatment process, the eggs were incubated for forty-eight (48) hours, thereafter they were harvested and the number of collaterals were counted. After counting the collaterals, treatment 0 (saline solution) has a mean of 13 collaterals; treatment 1 (100ppm) has an average of 14.4 collaterals; treatment 2 (200ppm) with a mean of 13.4; treatment 3 (300ppm) has the most effective concentration with an average of 7.1. As the concentration of the leaf crude increases the number of collaterals decreases. The average number of collaterals showed that the Angelica keiskei (Ashitaba) contained anti-angiogenic properties that inhibit the growth of blood vessels.
