Abstract

This study is descriptive in nature. Samples of kwek=kwek and sweet sauce obtained from three street food stalls around assigned area were used for the study. The antibiotics used in this study were Ampicillin, Chloramphenicol and Tetracycline. Pantoea spp was the most prevalent in kwek-kwek sample obtained from store A, while Escherichia coli was the most evident in the sweet sauce obtained from the same store. In store C, Rhizobium radiobacter was the most common in the kwek-kwek, while the most common in the sweet sauce was Klebsiella pneumoniae. No growth were observed from the Kwek-kwek and sweet sauce of Store B. Pantoea spp showed intermediate sensitivity towards Ampicillin and Chlorampenicol and susceptibility towards Tetracycline. Escherichia coli is susceptible towards Chloramphenicol and Tetracycline and reactivity towards ampicillin in intermediate. Rhizobium radiobacter reactivity towards ampicillin is intermediate, resistant towards Chloramphenicol and susceptible towards Tetracycline. Klebsiella pneumoniae showed signs of resistance towards Ampicillin and susceptibility to Chloramphenicol and Tetracyline.
