Abstract

This study aimed to identify the evaluation of DLSMHSI SHSSHS students on the work immersion (WI) conducted by the College of Medical Imaging and Therapy (CMIT) AY 2024-2025. In this study, a descriptive quantitative research design was used. A total enumeration sampling method was employed to gather the respondents in the study. The DepEd Division Memorandum DM-CI-2018-00257, Series of 2018, entitled “Monitoring and Evaluation of Work Immersion,” was used to guide the study. This study utilized a Likert scale questionnaire of 16 questions and two open-ended questions, exploring specific areas such as preparation, work immersion (WI) environment, relevance, and delivery. Mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, and repeated measures ANOVA were used as the statistical treatments. Additionally, the researchers found a significant difference among the five, leading to the rejection of the study's hypothesis. Meanwhile, the study found that the area of preparation, WI environment, and relevance was evaluated as “good,” while delivery was evaluated as “very good.” This led to the overall evaluation of the program being “good,” which suggests that the WI itself was well received. However, some areas for improvement were found in this study. First, WI must be implemented much earlier to prevent future career preference bias. In alignment with this, time allocation and management must also be enforced to properly cater all students without compromises. Lastly, instructor engagement and attention retention techniques must be improved.
