Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the perceived effectiveness of Competency Assessment and Remediation (CAR) courses in passing the Radiologic Technology Licensure Examination (RTLE) as perceived by DLSMHSI Radiologic Technology graduates of 2023 and 2024. A descriptive quantitative research design was employed. The data are statistically treated using frequency, mean, percentage, and an independent t-test. The findings of this study show that most respondents are female, graduates of 2024, and took the RTLE in 2024. The results revealed that both CAR 1 and CAR 2 courses are perceived as highly effective in all five factors evaluated, with classroom climate receiving the highest overall ratings. The factors of quality and quantity of instruction, motivation, and ability or prior achievement also received high effectiveness ratings, while only the rationale and teaching strategies used during CAR sessions were rated moderately effective. Furthermore, there are no significant differences in the perceived effectiveness of CAR courses when the respondents are grouped according to sex, year graduated, or year when the RTLE was taken. Overall, the findings suggest that the CAR program plays a significant role in passing the RTLE.
