Abstract
This research study was conducted to determine the relevant soft skills in the job performance of radiologic technologists as assessed by RT graduates of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI). A descriptive quantitative research design was utilized in the study. Out of 285 target respondents, only 241 participated in the study. The data were gathered using a validated self-made questionnaire that is divided into two parts. The first part contains the demographic profile of the respondents, including sex, length of service, and career specialization, and the second part contains the list of soft skills, specifically personal, cooperative, and creative soft skills. Frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test for independent means, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Levene’s test was used to treat the gathered data. The findings showed that the majority of the respondents are female, have a length of service of four to six years, and assigned in general radiography for their career specialization. In addition, the respondents assessed that personal and cooperative soft skills are highly relevant. For creative thinking skills such as innovativeness, constant improvement, and analytical thinking are rated as highly relevant, whereas implementing changes and fostering creativity as moderately relevant. Furthermore, there is no significant difference in the relevant soft skills in the job performance of radiologic technologists when they are grouped according to sex, length of service, and career specialization.
