Abstract

This study aimed to determine the quality assurance practices in general radiography among radiologic technologists in selected hospitals in Cavite. The variables examined were sex, length of service, and hospital level of the respondents. A total of 181 radiologic technologists working in hospitals in Cavite participated in the study. A quantitative descriptive research design was used. The researchers utilized an adapted and modified validated questionnaire divided into two parts. The first part collected demographic information, including sex, length of service, and hospital level. The second part consisted of 28 questions regarding quality assurance practices in general radiography. Data were analyzed using statistical methods such as mean, frequency distribution, percentage, standard deviation, and analysis of variance. The majority were female had been in service for five years or less and belonged to a Level 2 hospital. Among the quality assurance practices, ensuring the production of standard image quality procedures received the highest mean score, indicating that this practice was implemented to a very great extent. In contrast, participation in quality assurance training before engaging in quality assurance practices in the department had the lowest mean score, indicating that it was practiced to a great extent. Overall, quality assurance practices were performed by radiologic technologists in selected hospitals in Cavite to a very great extent.
