Abstract
This study explored the digital literacy of DLSMHSI 3rd year radiologic technology students towards their knowledge in Computed Radiography A.Y. 2023-2024. To gather the data, the Digital Literacy Language Learners Tool was adapted. In assessing the knowledge in Computed Radiography a validated self-made questionnaire was used. Statistical treatments included mean, median, standard deviation, frequency and percentage, Mann Whitney U test, and Spearman’s Rho. The demographic profile included sex and frequency of digital technology use. Most respondents were female and reported always using digital technology; none reported never or rarely using it. Findings revealed that respondents had very good overall digital literacy. Specifically, in the three (3) elements such as information search and evaluation, creation, and communication and collaboration, respondents were very good. However, in online safety, the respondents were good. As for the overall knowledge in Computed Radiography it was satisfactory. Thus, knowledge after taking the course is acceptable but not outstanding. In terms of the tasks, superior in launching the software, very good in manipulating the radiograph, passed in handling the order entry screen and identification of tools. However, failed in navigating the worklist. In addition, when grouped according to sex, digital literacy and knowledge in Computed Radiography had no significant correlations. On the other hand, frequency of using digital technology has a significant correlation with digital literacy and no correlation with knowledge in Computed Radiography. In terms of digital literacy towards knowledge in Computed Radiography, a weak correlation exists. Thus, there is no significant evidence to conclude their relationship.
