Abstract

This study examined the challenges experienced by radiologic technology interns in executing radiographic procedures with trauma patients in De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute. A descriptive research design was utilized. Data were gathered using adapted and modified questionnaire and analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and independent t-test. Results indicated that the majority of the respondents are female, and most are assigned to private hospitals. Most of the respondents did not perceived significant challenges in the domains of area preparation, patient care and management and patient positioning. However, nearly all respondents identified transferring and lifting trauma patients as challenging within the patient care and management domain. Overall, no significant differences were found in the challenges experienced by the respondents when grouped according to their sex in any domain of the radiographic procedures. In contrast, significant differences emerged when the respondents were grouped according to the type hospital assignment. Specifically, respondents assigned in the government hospitals experienced more challenges than those assigned to private hospitals in all three domains of executing radiographic procedures with trauma patients.
