Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between problems encountered and performance in internship program of the Radiologic Technology Interns of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo, SY 1992-1993. Specifically, this study aimed to: (1) Find out the common problems encountered by the Radiologic technology Interns. (2) Determine the level of seriousness of the problems of Radiologic Technology Interns. (3) Determine their performance in internship program. (4) Find out the significant differences in the performance in internship program when the respondents are grouped according to the level of seriousness of their problems. The data were collected from the respondents by using two instruments, a questionnaire and documentary analyses. The questionnaire was developed by the researchers to gather the data on the problems encountered during internship in the affiliated hospitals. Documentary analyses were conducted to get the grades on internship performance of the Radiologic Technology interns. Mean, F-test or One-way Anova were the main statistical treatments used to investigate the hypothesized relationship between variables. Based from the findings gathered in this investigation, the following conclusions were drawn: (1) Only few of the identified problems were considered moderately serious by the interns but most of the problems considered less serious by them. (2) As a whole, the problems identified were only considered less serious by the interns. (3) The respondents performed not so well in the internship program. (4) The problems they encountered are not related to the level of their performance in the internship programs. Although they encountered no serious problems their performance was still wanting.
