Abstract

This study attempted to investigate the relationship of learning strategies, attitude, and learning environmental factors to the academi achievement of Senior Radiologic Technology students of DLSU-Aguinaldo SY 1994-1995. Specifically, this study aimed to: (1) find out the learning strategies of the Senior Radiologic Technology students of De La Salle University - Aguinaldo SY 1994-1995. (2) find out the attitude of the respondents toward school work. (3) find out the learning environmental factors of the respondents. (4) find out the academic achievement of the respondents. (5) determine the significant relationships of learning strategies, attitude and learning environmental factors to the academic achievement. A total population of forty-eight (48) undergraduate Radiologic Technology students of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo enrolled during the first semester of school year 1994-1995 were used. The major data gathering tool was the questionnaire of Teacher's Survey Inventory, 1983 which was designed to elicit data about problems stated in the study. The researchers used the grades of the students in the academic course in the firsts semester as a basis of analysis. In adopting the questionnaire used in this study, the researchers modified some items to suit the respondents. Mean was used to determine the academic achievement of the students.Weighted average was used for finding average of responses to the options or the questionnaire which were given weights. In the light of the findings summarized , the following conclusions were drawn. (1) The Senior Radiologic Technology of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo from SY 1994-1995 had good learning strategies. (2) The attitudes of the respondents toward school work are better that their learning environmental factors. (4) The criterion variable academic achievements affected by the varieties learning strategies, attitudes and learning environmental factors showed that the respondents had a low academic achievement.(5) Learning strategies, attitudes. and learning environmental factors can predict the academic achievement. This showed that the grading system of the faculty was good, since the finding showed that those who performed high in learning strategies, attitude and learning environmental factors were those who performed high in their academic achievement; those who performed low in learning strategies, attitude, and learning environmental factors were those who performed low in academic achievement.
