Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the job performance of radiologic technologists with formal and those with non formal education in selected hospitals in Metropolitan Manila and the Province of Cavite. Specifically, it sought to answer the following specific problems: (1) What is the level of job performance of radiologic technologists with formal and non formal education in terms of: a) Positioning technique b) Darkroom technique c) Exposure technique d) Radiation Protection technique e) Personality and Professional attitude. This study utilized the descriptive type of research, which concerned two variables, the job performance of radiologic technologists with formal and those with non formal education. Included in this study were 10 technologists with formal and non formal education. The respondents were the 8 radiologistss from the 8 selected hospitals in Metropolitan Manila and the Province of Cavite. The rating scale used contained five major techniques related to technical competence. The questionnaire was adopted from the evaluation sheet of the radiologic technology interns and the evaluation sheet on the job performance of the radiologic technologists used by the De La Salle University - Aguinaldo, College of Radiologic Technology and was validated by a panel of two members from De La Salle University College of radiologic Technology and one member from the College of Education. The data gathered were analyzed with the use of the frequency count, mean and average weighted mean to know the level of job performance of each group of subjects. It was concluded that there was a small difference on the level of job performance of the two groups. Using the rating scale in this study, the job performance of radiologic technologists with formal education was rated Excellent and for those with non formal education was rated Very Good.
