Abstract

The main objective of this study is to determine the teaching effectiveness and faculty development program of Radiologic Technology faculty, a longitudinal study in DKSU-A from the year 1988-1995. Specifically, (1) to determine the profile of the faculty in the College of Radiologic Technology in terms of teaching experiences and educational attainment. (2) To find out the level of effectiveness of the faculty of the College of Radiologic Technology in terms of their performance evaluation according to their method of teaching, personal and social traits, classroom management and attendance. (3) To determine the significant relationship between teaching experiences and teaching effectiveness among the faculty. (4) to determine the significant relationship between educational attainment and teaching effectiveness among the faculty. (5) to survey the faculty development program in the College of Radiologic Technology which answers the weakness of the faculty regarding teaching effectiveness. This study composed of 15 full time professors of the College of Radiologic Technology from DLSU-Aguinaldo for the school year 1988-1995. The data were collected by using the two methods. First, from the Personnel department where faculty profiles are kept. Second, from documentary analysis where teaching effectiveness is determined. The mean was used to determine the educational attainment, teaching experiences and level of effectiveness. The ANOVA was used to determine the comparison of the performance in the level of teaching effectiveness in relation to their educational attainment. The correlation between teaching experiences and teaching effectiveness. Based from the findings gathered the following conclusions were formed: (1) the professors in the College of Radiologic Technology DLSU-Aguinaldo S.Y. 1988-1995, have the same level of teaching effectiveness whethet they have different educational attainment or teaching experiences. (2) seminars/lectures attended by the faculty members of the College of Radiologic Technology answer their needs to improve their skills and to uplift their teaching effectiveness in upgrading the quality of education.
