Abstract

To determine the relationship of personality and professional attitudes to technical competence of third year radiologic technology students of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo, SY 1994-1995. Specifically, (1) To find out the personality, professional attitudes and technical competence of third year radiologic technology students during the school year 1994-1995. (2) To determine the differences in the performance of the subject s in terms of their personality, professional attitudes, and technical competence when they are grouped according to sex. (3) To know if there is any correlation between the two existing variables the personality and professional attitudes, and technical competence. The study was conducted at De La Salle University-Aguinaldo in Dasmariñas, Cavite. There were 91 (72.22%) subjects in all, 53 of whom (58.24%) were females and 38 (41.76%) males. This study made use of the descriptive-documentary method of research. The internship grades gathered from the College of Radiologic Technology and the registrar's office, were analyzed and interpreted. The statistical tools used were the following : (a) mean, (b) t-test of uncorrelated means, (c) Pearson product-moment correlation, and (d) z-test of one sample mean. On the basis of the foregoing summary of findings, the researchers conclude that : (1) The level of personality and professional attitudes of third year radiologic technology students of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo SY 1994-1995 was very good and the group was homogenous in this aspect. (2) The level of technical competence of the subjects was also very good and the group was homogenous in performance. (3) There no significant differences in personality and professional attitudes of the subjects when they are grouped according to sex. (4) There are no significant differences in technical competence of the subjects when they are grouped according to sex. (5) There is no relationship between personality and professional attitudes and technical competence of the subjects.
