Abstract
To find out the radiologic technologists' perception of various brand of manual processing solution used in different hospitals. Specifically, (1) To identify various brand of manual processing solution used in different hospitals. (2) To determine the main reason in using such brand of solution. (3) To find out the extent in which the correct brand used give satisfaction to the technologists. (4) To identify other brands that had been tried by the technologists. (5) To know the recommended brands by the technologists and their reasons. The various brands of processing solution being tested were the following: Agfa, Kodak, Konica and Fuji. Testing period covered the period from October to November. The survey was done in selected small hospitals using a manual Processing that is often affected by the problem. Twelve (12) hospitals in Laguna and Cavite were surveyed. In Laguna, the hospitals were: Calamba Medical Center, Pamana Hospitals, JP Rizal Calamba, Calamba Doctors Hospital, Family Care Hospital, Associate Doctors Clinics and Evangelista. In Cavite, the hospitals surveyed were the following: St. Dominic Hospital, Cavite Medical Center, Saviour Hospital, Divine Grace Hospital, and JP Rizal Hospital, Dasmariñas. Some of these are De La Salle University - Aguinaldo affiliated for clinical internship. The respondents were the thirty (30) technologists from the aforementioned hospitals who had encountered this problem but were aiming to improve the quality of their work. This is a descriptive kind of study. Self-made questionnaire supplemented by interview was the instrument used. The statistical tools used in this study were frequency distribution and percentage to analyze and interpret the data gathered and presented. Based from the findings of the investigation, the following conclusions were drawn: (1) Most hospitals used Agfa and Konica brands of manual processing solutions with equal percentage. (2) Such brands were used because they were recommended by the hospitals and because they were suited to the materials. Cost was not considered. (3) Respondents found full satisfaction of the brands being used. They said nothing of its defect. (4) Respondents did try other brands but they still preferred to use their old brand. (5) Respondents recommended such brand because of its quality and suitability to the materials besides being recommended by hospitals
