Abstract

The main objective of this study is to determine the factors associated with the problems encountered in the internship training of the radiologic technology interns of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo, S.Y. 1994-1995. Specifically, (1) to determine what are the problems encountered by the radiologic technology interns with regard to their parents, school, interpersonal relationship, and health. (2) to determine the causes of the problems encountered by radiologic interns. (3) to determine the degree of seriousness of the problems encountered in the internship training of the respondents. Sixty seven senior radiologic technology students of DLSU-A, who finished their internship training in 1995 got involved with the study at hand. This study made use of descriptive type of research which measures the degree of seriousness of the problems. The instrument used is in questionnaire form to answer the specific problems of this study. Frequency distribution and ranking were used to determine the number of the radiologic technology interns in each problems encountered. Average weighted mean was used to determine the degree of seriousness of the problems encountered by the respondents in each problem. Based from the findings gathered the following conclusions were formed: (1) much of the problems encountered by the respondents came from the school with its inadequate facilities and equipment, not so much from parents, health and interpersonal relationship. (2) School was the primary cause of the problems encountered by the radiologic technology interns during their internship training. (3) Problems encountered by the radiologic technology interns were considered moderately serious.
