Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine the relationship of the problems encountered during the internship to the clinical performance of the radiologic interns of De La Salle University-Aguinaldo, SY 1994-1995. Specifically, (1) To find out the common problems encountered by the radiologic technology interns. (2) To determine the internship performance of the respondents. (3) To find out if there is a significant relationship between the problems encountered during internship and clinical performance of the respondents. The study was conducted at the De La Salle University-Aguinaldo in Dasmariñas, Cavite. The total population of 98 radiologic technology interns, SY 1994-1995 was used in the study. The data were retrieved from the respondents by using two instruments, a questionnaire and documentary analysis. The questionnaire was adopted and modified from Casela et al. to gather the data regarding the problems encountered by the respondents during internship in different affiliated hospitals and documentary analysis was conducted to get the internship grades of radiologic technology interns. The data were tested using the mean, standard deviation and correlation analysis. Bases from the findings gathered in this investigation, the following conclusion were drawn: (1) The common serious problems encountered by the interns during internship are those that are related to the co-interns, type of hospital, technologists/technicians and chief technologists. (2) The internship performance of the respondent is generally good. (3) The problems encountered during the internship by the respondents are not affecting their internship performance.
