Abstract

The descriptive method was used in this study. Five hundred (500) residents of Barangay Salitran, Dasmarinas City, Cavite were selected as respondents using stratified random sampling. A self-made questionnaire was utilized to gather data. The statistical tests used were ANOVA, t-test of independent samples, frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The study concluded that, 1) Most of the respondents were 19-30 years old, female, married, high school graduate and had a monthly family income of P10,000 and below; 2) The respondents’ overall knowledge regarding prevention of spread of communicable diseases was excellent; 3) Age and gender were not associated to the knowledge of the respondents regarding the prevention of spread of communicable disease. However, civil status, educational attainment, and monthly family income were found to be related to the knowledge of the respondents.
