Abstract
This study used the descriptive method. The respondents were the head and staff of all 78 barangay health centers in Dasmarinas, Cavite. A self-made questionnaire served as the research instrument. The statistical treatments used were frequency, percentage, mean, f-test or ANOVA, standard deviation and t-test for independent samples. The following conclusions were obtained: 1) Most of the barangay health centers in Dasmarinas, Cavite had 1-3 volunteer staff, had 1 to 3 registered staff, had less than 5,000 population coverage and had less than P50,000 budgetary allocation; 2) The barangay health centers were prepared in the prevention of spread of communicable diseases to a moderate extent; 3) Demographic variables such as number of volunteer staffs, number of registered staffs, population coverage and budgetary allocation were not related to the level of preparedness of the barangay health centers in the prevention of spread of communicable diseases.
