Abstract

This study utilized a descriptive method of research. The respondents consisted of 83 fourth year radiologic technology students of DLS-HCS and they were selected using stratified random sampling. The researchers formulated a self-made research questionnaire on the factors affecting the workplace preference of fourth year radiologic technology students of DLS-HSC during S.Y. 2005-2006. Statistical measures used to answer the specific problems were frequency, percentage, chi-square and Mann-Whitney test. From the findings, the following conclusions were derived: (1) Majority of the respondents are male and had a monthly family income of more than P20,000; (2) Most of the respondents prefer to work abroad; (3) There are no significant differences in the workplace preference of the respondents when they are grouped according to gender and monthly family income; (4) Larger salaries was the main factor associated with working abroad while family commitments was the main factor associated with working locally; (5) There were significant differences in the factors associated with the workplace preference of the respondents when they are grouped according to gender; (6) There were no significant differences in the factors associated with the workplace preference of the respondents when they are grouped according to monthly family income.
