Abstract
The study determined the effectiveness of the Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator (TENS) in conjunction with Hot Moist Pack (HMP) and Ultrasound (US) to relieve shoulder pain among Cerebrovascular accident (CVA), patients. The respondent in the study were 10 Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) patients with shoulder pain. Researchers used the T-test in computing the difference between the two means. During the study, 10 Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) patients given the treatment of Hot Moist Pack (HMP), four out of ten patients responded favorably. With the same set of subjects, TENS added to the first two modalities and nine out of ten subjects responded favorably. Researchers recommended systematic studies on developing methods of measuring the characteristics of shoulder pain. Besides, it suggests that the evaluation methods of treatment in their ability to relieve the pain was necessary accurately prescribe management.
