Abstract

The study employed a descriptive design using a survey technique and a self-made questionnaire distributed to 37 stroke patients admitted at UMC-DIMDRU from 1986 to 1988 through simple quota sampling. The data from the questionnaire tallied, tabulated, and analyzed. The analyzed data used percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. Based on the results, researchers concluded that (1) higher return rates observed among male patients and young patients aged 26-56 years old, all had previous occupations. (2) The majority of the respondents returned to their occupation after recovered from stroke, (3) respondents had to change the nature of their work and leisure activities to less demanding types.
