Abstract

The study conducted a simple random sampling, used a lottery to choose participants from seven sections of Second-year Physical Therapy students. Researchers made criteria to categorize each respondent, and to determine the relationship between grip strength and forearm circumference from forearm and wrist positions among the respondent's age 18-19 years old with forearm circumference of 21-26 cm. A total of 116 respondents (55 females and 61 males) chosen from 3 selected sections in Second-year Physical Therapy to participate in the study and used a tape measure in measuring the forearm circumference and analyzed the data for every trial of the respondents. Researchers concluded that the bigger the forearm circumference, the greater the grip strength was. Therefore, researchers recommend performing three trials for every respondent and consider different positions to give average grip strength.
