Abstract
A follow-up study on the health needs of all Daughters of Charity, Philippines Province 1986 as a basis for the health program proposal and common health problems of the Daughters of Charity, Philippine Province, 1990. It aimed to establish a baseline on foot deformity 7 factors that affect foot deformity of the Daughter of Charity, Philippine Province. A cross-sectional design used and the data elicited through a questionnaire. 84% of the total population of the Daughters of Charity included in the study. Chi-square test, frequency distribution and Pannhauser's Method used as a test for significance. Based on the results, the researchers concluded (1) foot deformities were the most common among the Daughters of Charity, specifically hallux valgus, callus, and bunions. (2) The researchers concluded the use of improper footwear and negligence of proper foot hygiene practice were the most important risk factors predisposed the Daughters of Charity to develop acquired foot deformities. (3) Researchers recommended providing important information on proper selections of footwear and proper hygiene for the sisters.
