Abstract

This study employed a descriptive design using a survey technique. Self-made questionnaires distributed to 81 respondents were workers from the factory of mosquito coils at Brgy Defuego, General Trias, Cavite chosen through simple quota sampling. The instrument translated into Tagalog. The data from the questionnaire tallied, tabulated, and analyzed. Data gathered and interpreted using frequency percentage and mean. Based on the results, the researchers concluded (1) low back pain the highest incidence recorded among oven operators, stackers, sorters, and mechanics. (2) Majority of respondents subjected to prolonged standing or a combination of standing and walking in the performance of their duties. (3) Those found to suffer low back pain the most are among those job incumbents whose duties require long hours of standing or combination of standing and walking; (4) Protective devices used by workers except those with the quality assurance department are apron, mask, goggles, earmuff, and gloves.
