Abstract

The researchers used descriptive design using the survey technique with a self-made questionnaire distributed to 20 respondents diagnosed to be hemiplegic patients in De La Salle University Medical Center chosen through simple quota sampling. The instrument translated into Tagalog. The data from the questionnaire tallied, tabulated, and analyzed. Data gathered and interpreted using frequency percentage and mean. Results of this study showed that (1) the five most common problems in activities of daily living encountered by right hemiplegic patients in De La Salle University Medical Center from the year 1991-1992 were bathing, dressing uppers, descending stairs, dressing lowers and ascending stairs. Of the five, only two, (2) (ascending and descending stairs) concerns the Physical therapist and the remaining three, (3) concerns the Occupational Therapist.
