A partial disability survey was conducted at Barangay Pasong Kawayan II through the approval of the local official of the said area. The instrument was translated into Tagalog. Patterned after the WHO manual of impairments, disabilities and Handicaps, a questionnaire was used as the research instrument. In the selection of families to be surveyed, since no scientific sampling technique was utilized only the accessible households were covered. The data obtained were organized into tabled and percentages were computed. Based on a partial disability survey of Barangay Pasong Kawayan II (483 or 20% out of 2,495 individuals covered) at Sitio 1 to 5, according to the respondents, 71 or 14.69% of 483 were identified as disabled. All types of disabilities classified in the WHO Manual of Impairments, Disabilities and Handicaps were found to exist and these are: Body disposition (35), locomotor (19), dexterity (11), communication (10) and personal care (3). According to age, most disabled belong to the 20-40 years old age group (29) and according to sex, females (55) were found to be higher in number as disabled.
