Abstract
In present society, body-building has been attracting a lot of attention among the young adults. These people indulge in this sports for several reasons: some of them want to look better, feel good, to be stronger than they used to and even just because his/her friends find it interesting. But whatever the reason a person has, they have to realize it is not that easy. The researchers used the descriptive design using survey technique. Self-made questionnaire was distributed to 25 respondents chose from three (3) different fitness gymnasiums around Cavite chosen through simple quota sampling. The survey instrument used pre-test and post-test questionnaires. Results were gathered and were subjected to T-test. Studies have been reported that post-exercise problems have gone to greater proportions during the past years. This usually happen when the exercise program one undertakes have some loop-holes which cause the hazardous problems. Problems, usually musculoskeletal in nature, have caused a major set-back after several months or even weeks of training. For the above reason, the authors of this study came up with a manual for beginning body-builders and tested its effectiveness in increasing their knowledge on some of the techniques of performing the exercise the right way and correct exercise prescription. After the results were analyzed, the authors concluded that the manual was effective in helping beginners in body-building design their own exercise program that will guide them in the presentation of post-exercise problems. However, there are still some aspects of the manual that needs to be improved. Revisions of the manual was recommended and a long term basis determination of its effectivity was considered.
