Abstract
The study aimed to determine the effectivity of the manual on "Assisting Disabled Passengers on Land transportation in increasing the knowledge of victory Bus Lines conductors on the practice in assisting disabled passengers". The study was conducted at Victory Bus Lines terminal located along Edsa, Pasay City. The researchers used the descriptive design using survey technique. There were only 30 respondents. Open-ended type of questionnaire was used to assess the feedback Bus Lines conductors regarding the manual in order to reflect the true feeling and opinions of the respondents. The pre and post-activity instrument was translated into tagalog. Data were gathered and interpreted using frequency percentage and mean. Pretest exam showed that the only a few percentage of VBL conductors has an adequate knowledge on how to assist an incapacitated person with ease due to the fact that most of them are not aware to the needs of these incapacitated persons. Post-test exam was given after tabulating and comparing, was found out that the manual has increased the VBL knowledge in terms of giving assistance to incapacitated passengers and has been more aware to the needs of these less fortunate individuals. It has been found out that the training manual was effective in increasing the knowledge of VBL personnel regarding assisting disabled passengers, therefore, the authors recommend that assimilation of this manual must be done not just in VBL but to all companies who are in constant contact with these kind of people and that all personnel involved in any kind of travel be obliged to undergo a training program designed to help the incapacitated people to be more safe and comfortable while traveling.
