Abstract

In any sport an individuals may indulge, there may be instances wherein improper technique are used when preparing, practicing or terminating a certain kind of sports. In a study among beginning bodybuilders, they have identified that post-exercise problems after training are the complaints of these Bodybuilders. They are general body fatigue, general muscle soreness, low back pain, joint and muscle pain. A study regarding body builders they concluded that a manual alone cannot suffice the problem. This led the researchers to do a descriptive study that intends to educate beginning body-builders on proper technique of doing a strengthening program through a formal structural training program. A total of 24 respondents were bodybuilders participated the training a videotape showing demo training program, lectures, manual, verbal discussions where done to educate body builders on proper technique of doing a strengthening program. Pre-test and post-test were done during seminar to know whether participants learned. Data were gathered and interpreted using frequency percentage, mean, and T-test. The study showed that 22 out of 24 respondents have significantly increased their respective scores in the post-test as compared to the pre-test. Level of knowledge of two (2) respondents remained the same. The researchers began to conclude that a structured formal training program is effective in educating beginning body builders on proper techniques of the doing a strengthening program. The researchers strongly recommend that a follow up of the subject be done to know whether there is any reduction on the occurrence of post-exercise problems experienced by respondents.
