Abstract
Educating pregnant women on proper exercise for main training good body conditions and preventing complications is a very important fact. Most obstetricians overlook the role of PT in the care of these special patients which is why most women turn to traditional means of treating these inevitable symptoms and this made the researchers conduct a training program to educate these special patients regarding the essential need of exercises during pregnancy. The researchers used the descriptive design using survey technique. Self-made questionnaire was distributed to 15 respondents were pregnant mothers in their second trimester, barangay health workers, and mothers under child bearing age group in Sitio Buwisan, Barangay Langkaan Dasmariñas, Cavite chosen through simple quota sampling. A training manual was designed to give the participants adequate knowledge on the principles behind the exercises, the contraindivations, precautions, symptoms for termination of exercises. The survey instrument used pre-test and post-test questionnaires and written in Filipino. Data collected were presented in frequency and T-test. Results showed an improvement of the performance of the 15 subjects in the post-test, in every category. During the return demo and practical aspect, the participant also showed a good and satisfactory standing of the exercises. The study then was considered effective in increasing the knowledge of respondents. We then recommend that more implementation time and follow-up seminars be given to the subjects. It would be best that a similar study be implemented using a larger number of subjects to further increase the reliability and validity of the study.
