Basketball is not only loved sport but also the most popular sport in the country today. The success of any basketball team partly depends on the quality of training each basketball player of the whole team is getting. This prompted the researchers to make a study on the nature of the Conditioning Exercises of the DLSU-A Male Basketball Varsity Team is getting so that appropriate recommendations may be given for improvement of the team. This intervention study was a follow up of a descriptive study regarding the training program of DLSU-A basketball varsity team. Self-made questionnaire was distributed to 15 respondents were basketball players at PLS Dasmariñas, Cavite chosen through simple quota sampling. The survey instrument used pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The researchers method of data collection was through observation and informal interviews. Data were gathered and interpreted using standard deviation and t-test. After the invention was made, a significant improvement was noted regarding their knowledge of the four areas of exercise program which includes warm-up, strengthening, endurance and cool down exercises. This was proven by the results of the pre-test and post-test examination and by their good performance in the return demonstrations. The areas which showed greatest improvement was an cool down which was new to them as compared to warm-up exercise. The players lack of knowledge regarding these exercises may in a way reflect on how their coaches and trainers handed them before the intervention study was made. In this case, we suggest that the same intervention study be given to coaches and trainers. To further assess the players improvement in performance of the exercises mentioned in the manual, we also recommended that each player be evaluate with the use of a detailed criteria on the components(starting positions, execution, etc) of exercises so as to avoid subjectivity.
