Abstract

The aim of the study is to determine the profile of the respondents as to age, gender, and exposure to Community Oriented Rehabilitation Program (CORP)/Community-Based Rehabilitation-Immersion (CBR-I) and Academic Rotation (AR) and to describe the level of readiness for community teaching of the Sciences Institute as to pedagogy, professional behavior and ethics, and cultural competence. A descriptive design was used in the study. The participants were the 106 out of 133 5th year interns of the Department of Physical Therapy of DLSHSI. The tool used was a questionnaire prepared by the researchers. After the approval of the Dean, the researchers distributed the informed consents and questionnaires to the 5th year students on their available schedule. After the implementation, the researcher collected, interpreted and analyzed the data gathered through mean and arbitrary scale. The results showed a strong indication of readiness for community teaching of the Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy Batch 2016 of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute as to pedagogy, professional behavior and ethics, and cultural competence.
