Abstract

The study on the clinical program of the provincial based affiliation centers of DLSU-HSC of PT was to describe the specific characteristics of their clinical training program and its consistencies. Results of the study showed that the provincial centers of DLSU-HSC College of PT provide its interns with majority of the components of the clinical training program which includes education tools/forms, equipment and supplies and clinical exposure. Of the sixteen entries under educational opportunities, only case reporting, journal reporting, PT in-patient service, pre and post evals were the most consistently present for all of the provincial based centers. Meanwhile, all of the entries under written requirements were consistently required for all the provincial centers. For the teaching methods, one on one precentorial were one of the most inconsistently done, followed by mini lectures. All entries under evaluation tools of all provincial based centers were mostly hand were consistently provided in all provincial in all provincial based affiliation center of DLSU-HSC College of PT. the authors recommend that the provincial based affiliation centers review and update their training program incorporating the week points that this study has pointed out. Educational opportunities and evaluation tools for interns were the most troubled training programs pointed in the study. Monitoring the centers training program and updating it with what is essential will greatly benefits the interns rotation in their center. future researchers could further develop this study to a more specific type of application. They could extend the duration or the coverage of the study from a 9 months period to a 12 months period duration. future researchers can also do a comparative study between satellite center, Manila based centers and provincial based centers.
