Abstract
This survey aimed to identify the 5 most common rehabilitative cases that are present in Barangay San Dionisio, Area I, Dasmariñas Bagong Bayan, Cavite. Data were collected by the researchers, with the aid of the barangay health workers through systematic sampling method using an interview schedule guide from (433) households with a total of (2,598)residents. Any member if the household who is knowledgeable about family matters was interviewed. Data collected were organized and put into tables for analysis. Data showed that (7%) subject of the population have rehabilitative conditions. Only 5.6% of the study population have rehabilitation conditions.The 5 most common rehabilitation present in Barangay San Dionisio were chronic bronchitis (14.29%), pulmonary tuberculosis (5.82%) arthritis, meningitis and stroke (2.12%), nack pain (1.59%) ,and fracture (1.06%). The demographic characteristics of individuals with rehabilitive conditions were early adults non-working, female and married residents of the community.The authors recommend that intensive patient education program concerning pulmonary care and environmental and self hygiene be done through seminars to health care workers and members of the community. They also recommend a simplified training manual regarding the 5 most common rehabilitative cases in the barangay. This can easily be supervised by health workers at the primary level of health care. The nature of the treatment program is inexpensive and is for early prevention of further disability and can be carried out on a home program basis.
