Abstract

The group obtained the Top 10 Philippine Physical Therapy schools from the Professional Regulation Commision and they were as follows: University of Sto. Tomas, University of the Philippines-Manila , University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay, Fatima Medical Sciences Foundation, De la salle University Health Science Campus, Angeles University Foundation, Cebu Doctors College, Emilio Aguinaldo College-Manila, Liceo de Cagayan de Oro, and Riverside College. The group determined if these schools follow the standards Faculty-Student ratio as set by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports. Ratios from only 6 to the 10 schools were obtained . Limitations identified were inaccessibility of some schools included in the study and ineffective means of follow-up. Of the 6 schools that had responded only 2 were found to have been compliant with the standard faculty-Student Ratio of 1:15 for laboratory classes. the compliant schools were University of Sto Tomas, And fatima Medical Sciences Foundation. The other 4 schools that had not complied with the standardized rations were university of the Philippines-Manila, university of the East-Ramon Magsaysay, Cebu Doctor's College and Emilio Aguinaldo College-Manika. As a recommendation, it is highly encouraged among future researchers conducting stidues simikar to the presented herein , that they manage time accordingly . Persistence with follow-up is a must, to be able to obtain all data needed for A more accurate study. Lastly, for future studies, the group request for:1. A continuing study regarding Faculty-Student Ratios of Top 10 PT schools and more recent years (i.e. 1996 to 1998) for a more reliable and updated conclusion. 2. a study correlating the Faculty-Student of the top 10 schools and their ranking based on Philippine PT board Examination results. 3. a study on the reasons for non-compliance with the standardized Faculty-student Ratio among PT schools. $. A study on the effectivity of smaller faculty-student ratios among Pt schools.
