Abstract
A study with a purpose of measuring the effectiveness of a training program in increasing the knowledge of the primary caregivers regarding the secondary complications of stroke , a noted leading cause of morbidity and a major health problem. It is noted that the maximum benefit of rehabilitation is achieved as early as possible and continued in home care basis. The method was to provide a pre-lecture quiz followed by a training program consisting of visual aids, discussion and demonstrations and a post-lecture quiz given the following day. A significant increase in the scores averaging 4.888 of the 9 respondents showed that the training program was effective.
