Abstract
Cerebrovascular disease (CVD) , commonly referred to as stroke, is one of the most common neurologic problem that are often that are often encountered in the everyday clinical practice. Recovery of these patients therefore primarily lies in the improvement of function and prevention of secondary complications. The primary caregivers now play a role regarding the proper care of patients and preventive care. A knowledgeable information and presentation concerning CVD patients and primary caregivers regarding preventive measures of stoke. The general objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of video presentation in educating the CVD patients primary caregivers of Alfonso , Cavite regarding proper bed positioning of the study gave due to the CVD patients and their primary caregivers. The study was conducted in Alfonso, Cavite. A set of questionnaires serve as pre-test was given at beginning of the video presentation to assess the knowledge and understanding of the subjects regarding the topic. this was followed by a video presentation performed by the researchers . At the end of the video presentation, a post-test was given to assess and evaluate the acquired knowledge learned by each of the subjects. A total of 22 subjects participated in the study, majority of them were females who belong to the middle adulthood and spouse of the patient , all of them had reached only their secondary level of education. Result showed that there was a relative increase in the post-test scores compared with the pre-test based from the t-test value through the written examination score. The overall average score in the post-test was 70.60% compared with the pre-test which was only 52.42% , however 54.54% of the respondents obtained scores the average in pre-test and post-test. the researchers therefore conclude that the video presentation was effective in educating the subjects regar5ding basic prevention care of stroke. Also, the researchers highly recommend that their study will eventually serve as a basic for a future study concerning rehabilitation.
