Abstract

This research study was conducted to find out the effectiveness of video presentation for caregivers on prevention of pressure sores. 20 caregivers were selected as subjects. The descriptive method of research was employed using video presentation and pre exam prior to viewing the video and the same exam 2 days after were given to the subjects as their post exam. Data gathered were tallied, analyzed and interpreted using _ test computation and paired T test analysis. Researchers came up with the conclusion that caregivers dramatically increased their post exam score 2 days after viewing the video. Supporting the fact, that presenting pressure sore prevention in form of video presentation to the caregivers was a very effective medium. The strengths that were noted in video presentation were as follows:(1) the researchers have noted that the subjects exhibit keen attention while watching the video; (2) there was lesser time consumed with watching the techniques on video compared to reading long hand-outs; and (3) there was proper demonstration by the lecturer which was equipped with the proper discussion, unlike from other form of resources, the caregivers would only have to imagine the execution per se.
